The Role
Peterborough City Council is looking for an experiencedSocial Worker – Fosteringto join their fostering service on a temporary basis.
You will be responsible for supporting and supervising foster carers, completing assessments and reviews, and working closely with children’s social care and partner agencies to ensure children and young people are receiving safe, stable and appropriate placements.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of up to15 fostering households.

CompleteForm F assessmentsfor prospective foster carers.

Provide regularmonthly supervisionto foster carers.

Support foster carers with placement-related issues and provide ongoing professional advice.

Attend and contribute toChild Care Reviews and placement planning meetings.

CompleteFoster Carer Annual Reviews.

Undertake relevantchecks, assessments and risk assessments.

Participate in theplacement team duty rota.

Work closely with children's social workers and other professionals to support positive placement outcomes.

Develop effective working relationships witheducation and clinical teamsand other partner agencies.

Promote safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes for children in foster care.
Requirements

Social Work qualification and relevant professional registration.

Previous experience withinfostering or children's social care.

Experience ofForm F assessmentsis essential.

Experience supervising and supporting foster carers.

Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and children's social care legislation.

Ability to manage a caseload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills.
