Early Help / Family Help Experienced Social Worker – Children's Services Location: Children's Centre / Community Based Rate: £36 per hour LTD Hours: 35 hours per week Driving Licence & Access to Vehicle: Essential Role Type: Temporary / Locum About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a Children's Services Early Help / Family Help team. This is a community-based role focused on safeguarding children and young people, supporting families and helping to improve outcomes through effective assessment, intervention and partnership working. The successful candidate will manage a varied and complex caseload, working directly with children, young people and families to identify needs, reduce risk and support positive and sustainable change. This is a community-based position, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Key Responsibilities Manage a complex and varied caseload appropriate to your experience and level of qualification. Undertake high-quality social work assessments, identifying children's needs, strengths, risks and appropriate interventions. Develop, implement and review effective care and support plans. Undertake direct work with children, young people and families to reduce risk and improve outcomes. Identify, assess and manage safeguarding concerns and levels of risk, ensuring the welfare and safety of children remains paramount. Prepare high-quality reports, statements and representations for court proceedings where required, with appropriate supervisory support. Attend and contribute to child protection, professional and multi-agency meetings and forums. Chair meetings where appropriate and provide professional social work advice. Work collaboratively with colleagues across Children's Services and partner agencies, including education, health and other professionals. Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local procedures. Work within relevant legislation, statutory guidance, professional standards and Council policies. Promote positive relationships with children, young people and families and ensure their voices and wishes are reflected in assessments and plans. Contribute to continuous service improvement and positive outcomes for children and families. About You We are looking for an experienced and qualified Social Worker who can demonstrate: A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration. Previous experience working within Children's Services, ideally within Early Help, Family Help, Child in Need or safeguarding. Experience managing a complex caseload. Strong assessment, analytical and risk-management skills. Experience undertaking direct work with children, young people and families. Excellent safeguarding knowledge and understanding. Experience working effectively within multi-agency environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to produce high-quality assessments, reports and care plans. Ability to work independently while making effective use of supervision and professional support. A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role is community based. Why Apply?
