CSW - Social Worker - Single Point of Access (Kingston & Richmond) - Social Care Qualified Single Point of Access (SPA) Social Worker Service: Children’s Services / Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Location: Achieving for Children About the Role The Single Point of Access (SPA) is the first point of contact for referrals and enquiries into Children’s Services. The SPA Social Worker will screen referrals, gather relevant information and assess initial levels of risk to ensure children and families receive an appropriate and timely response. Working within a multi-agency MASH environment, you will collaborate with Police, Health, Mental Health, Probation and Adult Services to share information and support effective safeguarding decisions. Key Responsibilities Screen and assess referrals received into the SPA. Gather and analyse information from families, professionals and partner agencies. Identify safeguarding concerns and assess risk at the initial point of contact. Provide professional advice and guidance to parents, professionals and partner agencies. Make recommendations regarding referrals, with final decisions authorised by SPA management. Respond to safeguarding calls and telephone consultations. Handle information requests from external professionals in line with data protection requirements. Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records. Work collaboratively with MASH partners to ensure coordinated responses and positive outcomes for children. About You You will need: A recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA/DipSW/CQSW/CSS). Current Social Work England registration. Relevant children's social work experience. Knowledge of children's safeguarding legislation and national policy. Experience assessing information, identifying risk and making professional recommendations. Strong communication, telephone and consultation skills. Experience working within multi-agency and multi-professional environments. Good understanding of statutory and regulatory frameworks. Strong case recording and information management skills.
