We Do Group are hiring for an Assistant Group Accountant to join a central finance team in London. This is a broad and well-rounded role supporting the Group Finance Manager across head office accounting, group month-end, consolidation, audit, and statutory reporting. It’s a good fit for someone who already has some exposure to a group or multi-entity environment and wants to deepen their technical accounting experience in a role with clear progression and plenty of variety.

THE ROLE

  • Support the group month-end close, making sure reporting is accurate and delivered on time
  • Prepare and post journals across accruals, prepayments, intercompany, financing, and leases
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and help resolve intercompany differences
  • Assist with head office accounts and group cost reporting
  • Support the production of monthly reporting packs, including P&L, cash, and KPI reporting
  • Work with regional finance teams to improve the quality and consistency of submissions
  • Help prepare commentary and analysis for budget holders
  • Support the annual audit process, including audit schedules and responding to queries
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts across a large group entity structure
  • Support the in-housing of statutory accounts preparation
  • Assist with lease accounting implementation, data gathering, and reconciliations
  • Help maintain reporting models, mappings, cost centres, and process documentation

YOUR PROFILE

  • Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CA)
  • Effective communicator – written & verbal
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Technical finance ability and interest
  • Commercial nouse and ability to speak with internal stakeholders (regional Finance Managers/Directors)
