We are looking for an experienced Accountant to support a fast‑growing accounting practice based just outside Woking. This position reports directly to one of the founding partners but works closely with a mixture of qualified and non‑qualified colleagues in a tight‑knit team. The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset who can support a varied client base of growing SMEs and UHNWI’s.   • Part‑qualified/studier accountant (ACCA/CIMA/AAT) or QBE (with relevant experience)
  • Prior experience delivering management accounts, ideally for smaller businesses
  • A positive people person who is comfortable interacting with clients to resolve queries
  • Any experience in an accounting practice would be advantageous but isn’t essential
  • A capable IT user – Excel, Word, Xero, Sage in particular

The Role

  • Deliver accurate management accounts and commentary (where required) for selected clients
  • Contribute to the month‑end and year‑end closing procedures for multiple clients
  • Support the year‑end statutory accounts processes (and audits as applicable) including dealing with queries from external accountants
  • Perform monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reconciliations, maintaining schedules throughout
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records using Xero accounting software
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
  • Provide cover for purchase ledger and sales ledger processing
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Contribute to monthly payroll preparation for selected clients
  • Support clients with business administration activities (e.g. incorporating companies, creating/registering tax accounts, liaising with HMRC, etc.)

We are looking for someone who is diligent, pro‑active and enjoys advising and guiding accounting and business decisions for varied stakeholder groups.

Salary & Benefits

£37,000 - £45,000 plus study support (if required) and benefits. This role is based just outside Woking with parking on site; public transport links are limited, so a car owner/driver would be preferable.
