Youll work closely with Finance and HR, ensuring everything from payroll inputs and statutory deductions through to reconciliations and month-end is accurate and delivered on time. /p p br /p p strong The Role /strong /p p Youll be responsible for the day-to-day running of a sizeable monthly payroll, acting as a key point of contact for payroll queries and ensuring employee data, payments and deductions are processed correctly. /p p br /p p Alongside BAU payroll, youll have the opportunity to improve existing processes, strengthen controls and get involved in future strong systems and automation projects /strong . Youll also work alongside a Payroll Benefits Administrator, providing support and guidance where required. /p p br /p p strong Key Responsibilities /strong /p ul li Process and manage the monthly payroll cycle for strong 1,000+ employees /strong across multiple legal entities /li li Check and validate payroll data including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, bonuses and deductions /li li Process pensions, benefits and statutory payments in line with current UK payroll legislation /li li Prepare and reconcile strong payroll journals, control accounts and statutory payments /strong as part of month-end /li li Work closely with Finance and HR to investigate payroll differences and ensure employee information remains accurate /li li Manage more complex payroll queries and resolve issues through to completion /li li Review employee expenses and ensure claims are processed in line with company policy /li li Maintain accurate payroll records, documentation and controls across the monthly cycle /li li Support and guide the strong Payroll Benefits Administrator /strong with day-to-day payroll activity /li li Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work and improve payroll accuracy /li li Get involved in future strong payroll system improvements and automation /strong /li /ul p br /p p strong What Were Looking For /strong /p ul li Strong hands-on experience processing strong end-to-end UK payroll /strong /li li Experience working with a strong large or complex employee population /strong /li li Good knowledge of strong PAYE, pensions, statutory payments and UK payroll legislation /strong /li li Comfortable preparing and reviewing payroll journals, reconciliations and month-end information /li li Strong Excel skills, ideally including strong Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP /strong /li li Experience using payroll, expenses or finance systems; strong SAP Concur, Opera or similar /strong would be useful /li li Comfortable supporting or providing guidance to more junior payroll colleagues /li li Highly organised and able to work accurately against fixed monthly deadlines /li li Strong attention to detail and comfortable working with sensitive employee information /li li strong CIPP qualification /strong or equivalent would be advantageous /li li Proactive and interested in improving processes, systems and ways of working /li /ul p br /p p strong Why Join? /strong /p p This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys being hands-on with the detail but also wants the scope to improve how things are done.
