£34,000–£36,000 per annum (Equivalent to hourly rate inside IR35)

We are working with an established and fast-growing facilities provider known nationally as a leader in their niche. They are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team during a busy period of financial activity and reporting. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a detail-driven finance professional with transactional experience and a solid grounding in accounting processes. Based in West Byfleet, this is an on-site role (3 days per week) with free parking and the opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative environment. The contract is offered on a 6 month basis with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments as part of the month-end process.
  • Manage transactional client invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with site managers, commercial business partners, and management accountants to verify complete and accurate revenue and cost data.
  • Support reporting setup and integration for new business units, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards.
  • Produce departmental profit and loss reports and related billing, ensuring accuracy and approval.
  • Maintain accurate customer account records, manage queries, and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit preparation and contribute to ad hoc finance projects as required.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts administration role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and payment procedures.
  • Proficiency with large complex finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.
