GUILDFORD – HYBRID – PERMANENT – EXPANDING OUTSOURCING TEAM WITH VARIED CLIENT WORK

Are you a qualified practice accountant or active studier looking to broaden your client exposure? Do you enjoy a mix of hands-on delivery, review work, and supporting others? We’re working with a growing accountancy practice looking to add an Accountant to their outsourcing team in Guildford. The role has been created as part of continued expansion and offers the chance to work across a diverse portfolio, gaining exposure to different sectors and client needs. This position suits someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, building client relationships, and playing a part in developing more junior team members. There’s a strong emphasis on quality, collaboration, and improving how things are done.

WISH LIST

  • Background in practice, with experience preparing and reviewing management accounts and statutory reports

THE ROLE

  • Deliver and review monthly and quarterly management accounts across a varied client base
  • Prepare statutory accounts under FRS105 and FRS102, including group accounts where required
  • Oversee bookkeeping outputs and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Review and assist with VAT return preparation
  • Support new client onboarding, including compliance-related processes
  • Help clients get set up on and make the most of accounting systems
  • Act as a key contact for client queries and day-to-day support
  • Provide guidance and feedback to junior team members
  • Allocate work and review outputs to maintain quality standards
  • Contribute to proposals and support new business conversations
  • Assist clients with forecasting and budgeting requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

YOUR PROFILE

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA) or active studier
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Proven experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Strong familiarity with Xero and cloud-based accounting tools
