We Do Group are partnering exclusively with an international energy and industrial services business to recruit a newly created Senior FP&A Manager.
This is a high visibility role for someone who wants to do more than simply own a budget and forecast.
You’ll be joining a complex, global organisation at an exciting stage of growth, with the opportunity to help shape how FP&A operates across the business and become a key commercial partner to senior leadership.
The business operates across multiple international markets, with major operations in the UK, Americas, Australia and the Middle East. It has ambitious organic growth plans and supports customers across traditional energy, LNG, industrial facilities, infrastructure and data centres.
This is not a steady state FP&A role.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will initially focus on strengthening and transforming the foundations of global FP&A, creating better data, better reporting and greater consistency across regions.
You’ll work across global accounting, regional finance teams and Shared Services to improve how information flows through the organisation and ultimately reaches senior leadership.
From there, the opportunity becomes increasingly commercial.
Long range planning. Scenario modelling. Performance insight. Board and shareholder reporting. Challenging regional leadership. Identifying risks and opportunities. Helping the business make better decisions.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Helping shape and develop the global FP&A function
- Improving the quality, accessibility and consistency of global financial information
- Developing high quality management reporting across multiple geographies
- Strengthening master data, reporting structures and performance visibility
- Partnering with global accounting, regional finance and Shared Services
- Leading and improving budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling
- Contributing to five year planning for the Board and shareholders
- Turning complex financial and operational data into clear commercial insight
- Partnering senior leaders across three global service lines
- Challenging performance and identifying risks, opportunities and areas for improvement
- Managing and developing one direct reportHelping move FP&A towards a more proactive, commercial and forward looking function
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We can be open minded on background, but we are looking for someone with real horsepower.
Someone bright, commercially curious and confident enough to operate with senior people across a complex international organisation.
You will ideally bring:
- A strong FP&A, commercial finance or performance management background
- Experience operating within an international, multi geography organisation
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, modelling and long range planning capability
- The ability to turn large amounts of information into meaningful commercial insight
- Evidence of improving management information, reporting or financial data
- Strong systems capability and an interest in how finance can operate better
- Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to challenge, influence and make recommendations
- The ability to understand complexity while identifying what genuinely matters
- A willingness to get into the detail when required
What matters is the calibre of the individual.
Someone who can bring structure to complexity, raise the quality of information and then use that information to influence decisions at senior level.
Someone who can build the foundations but has the commercial capability and ambition to take FP&A well beyond them.
