Interim Management Accountant
3 - 6 Month Contract (Temp to Perm Opportunity)

£60,000 - £70,000
We are working with a well-established property business going through a period of transition to help them appoint an Interim Management Accountant. This role has come about due to a recent team departure, and you’ll be stepping in to take ownership of monthly management reporting and support the finance team through a busy period.
This is a hands-on role with full end-to-end responsibility for management accounts production. You’ll need to hit the ground running, taking ownership of core accounting processes, balance sheet integrity, and financial insights to support decision-making across the business. The opportunity has scope to turn permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and supporting commentary
- Post journals for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of ledgers
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with financial data and variance analysis
- Liaise with non-finance stakeholders across the business to explain financial results and gather input
- Assist with month-end close processes and reporting deadlines
- Maintain and enhance documentation of financial controls and processes
- Help ensure a smooth handover from the outgoing team member
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Accountant with strong management accounting experience
- Background in the property sector or a similar multi-entity environment preferred
- Proven ability to work independently and manage the full month-end process
- Excellent Excel skills and confident with finance systems (any property software a bonus)
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to hit the ground running
- Proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Immediate availability
