A high growth international business is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their Finance team in Maidenhead with hybrid working options. The role offers a salary of £35,000 to £40,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits.
This position is broad and hands-on, providing exposure across Finance, Logistics, Operations, and Customer Services. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the month end close and preparation of management accounts
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining accounting schedules across prepayments, fixed assets, sales, commissions, and other areas
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Gaining exposure to stock and inventory accounting within a product-led business
- Working closely with Logistics and Operations to understand costs, data, and performance
- Supporting accounting across postage, carriers, refunds, chargebacks, and wider sales activity
- Developing an understanding of how financial and operational data flows through systems into management reporting
- Using Excel and data tools to improve analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
- Identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise, and automate Finance processes
- Supporting year end, audit, statutory reporting, and wider Finance projects
The ideal candidate will be:
- Studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or keen to begin a professional qualification
- Experienced in supporting management accounts, month end, or balance sheet reconciliations
- Naturally analytical with a genuine interest in understanding the “why” behind the numbers
- Proficient in Excel with an interest in developing data and systems knowledge
- Experienced within a product, retail, consumer, or international business
- Familiar with stock, inventory, logistics, or high volume transactional data
- Proactive, bright, and comfortable taking ownership
- Ambitious and keen to learn, develop, and grow with the business
