London. Hybrid. 2 days in the office. £115,000 to £125,000 + benefits.
We are supporting a high growth, private equity backed, global business just under £250m in revenue as they hire an IT Director to lead their next phase of technology, data and digital evolution. This is a proper leadership role. You will sit at the top table, reporting into the Group CFO and working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team across multiple countries. The IT function is in good shape. The BAU is running, the team is performing and the lights are on. Now the business needs someone to take ownership, set the direction and build what comes next. This is about scaling, modernising and turning technology into a genuine commercial advantage.
What you will be doing:
- Take ownership of a well run, global IT estate and lead its evolution.
- Run and continuously improve day to day IT operations across multiple countries.
- Own cloud platforms, networks, enterprise systems and service desk performance.
- Set and deliver a clear technology and digital roadmap aligned to business growth.
- Lead cyber security, risk management, disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Ensure the business is secure, compliant and resilient.
- Standardise systems and data across regions that have grown in different ways.
- Build strong data foundations to improve reporting, insight and decision making.
- Lead the adoption of AI and automation to drive productivity and better customer experience.
- Act as a trusted business partner to the board and leadership team.
- Present technology plans, spend and outcomes in a clear, commercial way.
- Own IT budgets, suppliers and contracts.
- Lead, develop and motivate a global IT team.
This is a mix of strategy and hands on leadership. You will be expected to know what is really happening across the estate and drive change where it matters.
What they are looking for:
- Experienced IT Director, Head of IT or senior technology leader who enjoys both ownership and delivery.
- Experience running IT across multiple sites or countries.
- A track record of modernising systems and moving businesses onto cloud platforms, ideally Azure.
- Strong understanding of ERP, data platforms, networks, cyber security and enterprise applications.
- Experience leading digital transformation and improving data maturity.
- Commercial confidence around budgets, suppliers and technology investment.
- The ability to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and boards.
- A people focused leadership style with the ability to lead change.
- Experience in a private equity environment, or preparing a business for exit, would help but is by no means essential.
- Experience in facilities, logistics or business services, but again this is not essential.
This is a business that moves quickly and values people who get things done. They are looking for someone who is:
- Strategic but practical.
- Commercially minded.
- Calm, credible and trusted.
- Curious about AI and data but focused on real outcomes.
- Comfortable being accountable for both the detail and the big picture.
If you enjoy building, improving and owning something meaningful, this will suit you.
