This is a brilliant opportunity for a technically strong accountant who wants broader exposure and the chance to genuinely improve and shape a finance function. The business is growing quickly and bringing more accounting and reporting capability in house. They need someone who enjoys technical accounting, likes solving problems, and is happy rolling their sleeves up.
This isn’t a role where you disappear into a huge finance function and become one of 100 people doing the same process every month. You’ll work closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders across the group, taking ownership of reporting, controls, audit and technical accounting, while also getting exposure to projects, FP&A, tax and wider strategic initiatives.
The Role
- Leading statutory reporting across a complex multi-entity group
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under UK GAAP / FRS102
- Managing the year end audit process and acting as the main contact for auditors
- Supporting corporation tax filings and working closely with external tax advisers
- Owning and improving group accounting policies and technical accounting standards
- Reviewing key balance sheet reconciliations, journals and technical postings
- Driving better controls, consistency and reporting standards across the group
- Supporting process improvement and finance transformation projects
- Helping standardise accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency
- Supporting treasury activities including intercompany balances and funding structures
- Maintaining strong governance and supporting wider compliance requirements
- Providing technical guidance to the wider finance team and supporting development
There’s also broader exposure into FP&A, commercial projects and future growth initiatives, making this a genuinely well-rounded group role.
What We're Looking For:
- A fun and high energy individual who wants to learn and grow!
- ACA qualified, ideally Top 10 trained
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and statutory reporting experience
- Experience preparing accounts from scratch within a multi-entity environment
- Confident managing audits and dealing with external advisers
- Someone hands on, practical and comfortable operating in a changing environment
- A strong communicator with a bit of personality who can work across the business
- Someone who enjoys improving processes rather than just maintaining them
Why This Role Stands Out
A lot of technical accounting roles can feel very narrow and repetitive. This role gives you proper ownership and visibility, while still keeping the technical depth. You’ll be joining a strong business with impressive leadership, good people and a finance team that genuinely values ideas, improvement and collaboration.
