Demand Planner

6-Month Interim Contract | Camberley (Hybrid/Remote)

£275–£325 per day (Inside IR35)

We’re working with a leading consumer goods business in the food retail sector, seeking a Demand Planner to join their fast-paced and collaborative planning team. This role plays a key part in ensuring product availability across major retail and grocery partners while balancing efficiency, waste, and cost.

This is an analytical, hands-on position suited to someone with strong forecasting and data management skills, ideally gained in an FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain environment. You’ll act as the link between commercial, operations, and procurement teams, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective demand planning processes across multiple product lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve demand forecasts across key retail and grocery channels
  • Analyse sales data and promotional trends to inform production planning and stock allocation
  • Monitor and optimise availability and waste KPIs, ensuring consistent product supply and minimal loss
  • Collaborate with procurement to align ingredient and materials planning with forecasted volumes
  • Support new product launches, range changes, and product transitions to ensure seamless implementation
  • Produce and present regular insight reports to senior stakeholders, highlighting risks, opportunities, and performance trends
  • Work cross-functionally with logistics, manufacturing, and sales to drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and process efficiency

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis, ideally within FMCG, food, or consumer products
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power Query or Power BI highly desirable
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions
  • Highly organised and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving
