We’re supporting a specialist wealth and investment management business undertaking a major platform transformation and are looking to appoint an experienced Data Migration Analyst on an interim basis. This is a highly specialised role requiring someone with deep experience across investment management operations, portfolio data, and platform migrations. The successful candidate will need to understand the structure and treatment of financial assets, investment transactions, portfolio holdings, pricing data, investment restrictions, fee schedules, and client/investment records across both listed and private market/alternatives environments. This is not a generic migration role - we need someone who understands how investment data behaves operationally, how it flows between systems, and the downstream impact of getting it wrong.
The Role
- Working as part of a major transformation programme, you will support the migration of complex client and investment data from legacy systems into a new investment management platform.
- You’ll act as the bridge between operations, technology, and business stakeholders, ensuring investment data is accurately translated, reconciled, validated, and fit for purpose within the new operating model.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, map, cleanse, and migrate complex investment management and wealth management data into the new platform.
- Validate the treatment of financial assets, holdings, transactions, fee structures, restrictions, models, and performance history across both listed and private market portfolios.
- Reconcile investment and client data between legacy systems and the target platform, ensuring completeness and integrity.
- Work with business stakeholders to define and validate system rules, restrictions, workflows, and data outcomes.
- Support migration of data relating to private equity, alternatives, funds, and off-system investments.
- Manage testing, UAT, proof-of-concept validation, and business sign-off processes.
- Support integration and validation of third-party data feeds, including custodians, fund administrators, market data providers, and related platforms.
- Assess and manage data dependencies across pricing feeds, static data, transaction records, and portfolio structures.
- Identify data quality issues, exceptions, and operational risks, ensuring clear escalation and resolution.
- Document progress, risks, outcomes, and migration decisions for the wider project team.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in data migration within wealth management, private banking, investment management, or asset management.
- Strong understanding of financial assets, portfolio structures, investment transactions, and portfolio accounting treatment.
- Experience working with both listed investments and private market/alternatives data.
- Good understanding of custodian feeds, fund administrator data, market data providers, and third-party platform integrations.
- Experience working with investment rules, restrictions, controls, and regulatory operating frameworks.
- Strong data reconciliation, validation, and testing experience.
- Experience supporting investment platform implementations or migrations essential.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to work across operations, technology, and vendors.
- Experience with investment platforms highly desirable.
