Initial Interim Contract £60,000–£70,000 per annum (Equivalent to Day Rate | Inside IR35) Surrey – Hybrid Working (3 Days On-Site)

We're supporting a growing FMCG manufacturer that is investing heavily in the transformation of its Supply Chain and Planning function. As part of this journey, they're looking to appoint an experienced Supply Planning & Performance Manager to improve planning performance, optimise inventory, and help build a best-in-class planning capability. This is a newly created position supporting a major business transformation programme. The initial requirement is expected to be around six weeks; however, there is a strong likelihood the assignment will extend as the successful candidate helps shape the future planning function, with genuine potential for the role to become permanent.

This is a highly visible position where you'll influence planning strategy, inventory optimisation, forecasting performance, and cross-functional decision-making, working closely with senior stakeholders across Supply Chain, Commercial, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance.

The Role

Reporting into senior Supply Chain leadership, you'll take ownership of planning performance across the business, using data and commercial insight to improve forecast accuracy, inventory productivity, product availability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to improve forecasting performance, inventory optimisation, and product availability across the business
  • Analyse SKU, category, and product performance to identify opportunities for commercial and operational improvement
  • Develop inventory planning strategies to reduce waste, improve stock productivity, and optimise working capital
  • Design and implement planning governance, KPI reporting, and performance management frameworks
  • Build stronger alignment between Commercial, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Finance teams
  • Lead continuous improvement projects across forecasting, replenishment, planning, and inventory management
  • Develop executive dashboards and present planning performance, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Drive measurable operational and financial improvements through enhanced planning disciplines
  • Lead and develop the Master Data & Demand Planning Administrator while improving planning data governance
  • Help shape the future Supply Planning function, recommending new processes, controls, and ways of working

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience within Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Performance
  • Strong FMCG, food manufacturing, retail, or other high-volume operational background
  • Demonstrable experience delivering measurable improvements across planning, inventory, or supply chain performance
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capability
  • Experience using forecasting, planning, ERP, or supply chain systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate data into business decisions
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Power BI, Power Query, Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience advantageous
