3–6 Month Contract | Guildford (4 Days On-Site) | Parking Available

£34,000–£36,000 per annum (Equivalent to hourly rate inside IR35)

We’re working with an iconic and fast-growing automotive brand renowned for engineering world-class performance vehicles. They’re currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team during a busy period of financial activity and reporting.

This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a detail-driven finance professional with payroll experience and a solid grounding in accounting processes. You’ll take ownership of wage processing and support the Group Financial Controller across key reconciliations and month-end tasks.

Based in Guildford, this is an on-site role (4 days per week) with free parking and the opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative environment. The contract is offered on a 3–6 month basis with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with bank account and ledger reconciliations (AP, AR, GL)
  • Post and review journal entries to ensure accuracy
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies

Payroll & Wages

  • Prepare and process monthly employee wages accurately and on time
  • Review and authorise overtime claims in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain up-to-date, confidential payroll records
  • Liaise with HR on employee changes affecting payroll

Accounts Administration

  • Maintain organised financial documentation and records
  • Support internal and external audits when required

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts administration role
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and payroll procedures
  • Proficiency with large complex finance systems and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Professional and discreet communication style
