Financial Accountant
Full-Time | Fully On-Site | Newly Qualified ACA
We Do Group are partnering with a growing entertainment business to recruit a Financial Accountant into their finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified ACA, ideally making their first move from practice into industry, who wants a role that offers much more than traditional financial reporting.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider leadership team, you’ll take ownership of key areas of the month-end process while gaining exposure to commercial analysis, forecasting, systems development, process improvement and senior stakeholder engagement.
The business is looking for someone ambitious, hands-on and technically strong who wants to develop their commercial skillset alongside a solid financial accounting foundation.
What will you be doing?
- Preparing and posting month-end journals, with a focus on delivering an efficient month-end close.
- Managing fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Preparing monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Reviewing and reconciling key balance sheet accounts.
- Managing monthly intercompany/interdivisional cross-charges and resolving associated queries.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns and supporting schedules.
- Taking ownership of quarterly royalty reporting.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with month-end reporting.
- Assisting with annual corporation tax computations and audit preparation.
- Preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries.
- Meeting with senior leadership to review and forecast spend.
- Providing commercial analysis, including measuring the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improvements in financial performance.
- Supporting the development and improvement of financial systems, including hands-on involvement with Oracle.
- Supporting weekly payment runs.
- Monitoring customer credit and payment terms to help manage financial risk.
- Sharing knowledge and best practice with the Credit Controller and Accounts Assistant to improve the wider team’s effectiveness.
What are we looking for?
- Newly qualified ACA with a practice-trained background.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of internal controls.
- A desire to make the move into industry and develop broader commercial finance experience.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A structured and methodical approach to your work.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
