South West London – Hybrid Working

We're supporting a growing fashion and e-commerce business that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Business Partner on an interim basis to support its commercial finance team during a busy period.

This is a broad role combining commercial analysis and business partnering with some hands-on finance responsibilities. You'll work closely with teams across Marketing, Merchandising, Trading and Operations, helping them understand performance, manage budgets and make better commercial decisions.

We're looking for someone who understands the pace of an e-commerce or retail environment and can get into the detail behind sales, margin, stock and customer performance while still being comfortable supporting month-end and management reporting.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll provide day-to-day financial support and insight to key commercial teams across the business.

You'll help analyse trading performance, support budgeting and forecasting, and work with budget holders to understand variances and improve financial performance. Alongside the commercial work, you'll remain close to the numbers and support month-end activities to ensure reporting is accurate and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partner with Marketing, Merchandising, Trading and Operations teams, providing financial support and commercial insight
  • Analyse weekly and monthly trading performance across sales, margin, stock and operating costs
  • Support analysis of key e-commerce metrics including AOV, conversion, customer acquisition costs, returns and promotional performance
  • Work with Marketing to understand campaign spend, customer acquisition and return on investment
  • Partner with Merchandising and Trading teams around product performance, stock, markdowns and gross margin
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting process across key business functions
  • Produce regular variance analysis, identifying key movements against budget and forecast
  • Support month-end close including journals, accruals, prepayments and management reporting
  • Prepare clear reporting and analysis for senior finance and commercial stakeholders
  • Work with budget holders to improve cost visibility and financial ownership
  • Analyse business performance to identify trends, risks and commercial opportunities
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and finance projects during the contract

What We're Looking For

  • Part-qualified, newly qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or strong relevant experience
  • Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Analyst, Senior Finance Analyst or Management Accountant role
  • Experience within fashion, retail, e-commerce or another consumer-led environment highly desirable
  • Good understanding of retail and e-commerce performance drivers, particularly sales, margin, stock and marketing
  • Comfortable supporting month-end alongside commercial analysis and business partnering
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • Confident communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Commercially curious with the confidence to ask questions and understand what's driving performance
  • Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable working within a fast-paced trading environment
  • Available immediately or at short notice

Why Join?

This is a great opportunity to join a growing fashion and e-commerce business in a genuinely broad commercial finance role. You'll gain exposure across Marketing, Merchandising, Trading and Operations while working closely with an experienced finance team and playing an important role during a busy period.
