ABOUT THE ROLE As part of the We. Global Health team, this role is for a candidate with a passion for navigating the pharmaceutical, medical device industry and health tech to deliver impactful storytelling. Key strengths for this role include content creation, media relations team coordination and project management. You should have a can-do attitude, as well as a willingness to learn, contribute and engage with our growing team and clients. Previous agency or healthcare experience is desirable, but you must have prior professional experience in communications, healthcare and/or project management, and be committed to professional development in this area.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious candidate who is looking to grow and develop both their own professional skillset, and also support the growth and development of the health and health tech business within We. Communications. You will be reporting into a fantastic Senior Account Manager or Account Director, who will invest time and energy in your personal development and career progression, and joining a talented, collaborative and committed team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client service: Day-to-day client engagement – answering emails, owning initiatives, leading status updates in meetings/calls, providing counsel and ideas.
- Managing and tracking team’s progress on activities to report to clients.
- Supporting with account administration, including updating activity trackers, timelines, coverage updates and action recaps.
- Press office: Working in conjunction with account lead to manage the seamless running client press offices including:
- Developing a keen understanding and network of trade and national media contacts to secure media opportunities.
- Development of media materials (press releases, spokespeople quotes, Q&A documents).
- Leading the sell-in of media campaign/news announcements (including preparing media materials).
- Compiling briefing books and facilitating press meetings.
- Investigating/responding to reactive commentary opportunities.
- Proactive story development.
- Proactive monitoring of news agenda and trending stories to identify opportunities for clients or any considerations when pitching.
- Drafting social copy.
- Monitoring client social channels.
- Pulling data from social platforms and tools – and conducting analysis.
- Working with colleagues in creative or digital teams to develop assets and ensure best practices.
PREVIOUS PROVEN EXPERIENCE
- Prior professional experience in communications, healthcare and/or project management. Ideally some agency/client service experience.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong content creation skills – blogs, press releases etc.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical or healthcare review platforms (e.g. Veeva).
- Knowledge of social platforms and tools – and ability to pull insights/draw conclusions.
- Shows initiative/proactivity.
- Good organisational skills, with strong attention to detail (time management, ability to manage deadlines).
- Interest in the news agenda and healthcare industry.
- Interest and understanding of basic AI tools and willingness to engage and learn.
