ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an exceptional Account Director to be a key member of our digital practice. This role involves managing the digital operations for several of our top clients in the tech, health, and sustainability sectors, including Microsoft and the Forest Stewardship Council. The ideal candidate will also play a pivotal role in scaling our digital portfolio and expanding our presence in the UK and across the EMEA region.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in paid social, with a deep understanding of how to plan, execute, and optimise campaigns across multiple platforms. They should be confident in developing paid media strategies, managing budgets, and using data-driven insights to maximise performance.
They will also have experience working with organic social, ensuring a seamless integration of paid and owned tactics to drive engagement and deliver results.
Successful candidates will have a knack for first-class client service, creative digital content development, and campaign planning across various social channels while running highly efficient accounts. They will have a strong understanding of B2B and B2C audiences and an interest in being part of a growing practice. RESPONSIBILITIES
Client service
- Day-to-day client and team management. Including:
- Partnering with Associate Director level on overall account planning, as well as taking the lead on planning project activations
- Growing the client relationship and providing strategic counsel
- Managing the team’s progress on activities and reporting on client’s results
- Budget management and team resourcing
Digital execution
- Developing social strategies for clients based on social best practice guidelines, market research, competitor analysis and audience insights
- Own and lead the agency’s paid social function – including scoping, executing, and managing paid media campaigns across all social channels
- Overseeing social content creation inc. liaising with design and copywriters
- Conducting and overseeing qualitative and quantitative social performance analyses, and providing actionable insights for continuous improvement, based on results
- Providing expert client and agency counsel on digital and social best practices
- Staying updated with the latest social media trends and platform updates to inform strategies
New business
- Conducting successful business development for both new and existing clients, including seeking opportunities from within own network
- Build social media and digital marketing strategies, and participate in pitches to effectively sell ideas
Agency & technology practice leadership
- Involvement in the UK-wide AD peer group
- Oversight/integration between WE AM group and senior peer groups (WE Associate Directors and LT)
- Managing career development and performance of direct reports
PREVIOUS PROVEN EXPERIENCE
- SAM/AD experience of digital/social clients
- Highly experienced in developing, running and reporting on paid campaigns across all channels
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong content skills – from overseeing creative development and social copy creation to ensuring brand consistency across platforms
- Demonstrated ability to drive strong client relationships, drafting/executing plans, providing thoughtful analysis
- Understanding and management of client budgets – and ability to discuss with clients
- Experience in running paid advertising on other digital platforms and channels (Google Ads, ATL and audio/podcast advertising) is a bonus, but not a requirement
