About the role
Building Surveyours play a key role in helping people live safely and independently in their homes. You’ll carry out a range of minor repairs and home adaptations, ensuring properties are safe, accessible, and fit for purpose. This is a mobile, hands-on role offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a real difference in your community.
You’ll report to the Senior Technical Officer and Head of Service Deliveryt and work closely with our Case workers to deliver a seamless, responsive service for project management service to our clients.
What you’ll be doing
- Helping older and vulnerable people remain safe and independent in their own homes.
- Surveying properties and designing repair and adaptation solutions.
- Managing projects from concept to completion.
- Producing CAD drawings and progressing planning/building control applications.
- Working closely with customers, contractors and local authority partners.
- Ensuring high-quality work is delivered on time and to specification

What we are looking for
- Qualified Building Surveyor (HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Strong CAD and technical design skills.
- Experience with planning and Building Regulations processes.
- Knowledge of domestic repairs, adaptations and building defects.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects.
- A practical, compassionate approach when working with vulnerable customers.
Additional information
- Location: Bristol office (minimum 3 days per week) + travel frequent travel to clients home.
- Salary: £42,094.92
- Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday)
- Contract types: Permanent
This role requires a access to own vehicle and ability to travel across our region. - Due to the vulnerable nature of the people we work with, an enhanced DBS check.
