The Registered Home Manager for Orchard Nursing & Residential Home will provide day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for all residents. This full-time role is based in Huyton, with on-site leadership as the primary expectation. Key responsibilities include managing clinical and care standards, overseeing assessments and care planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safeguarding requirements. The role involves leading, coaching, and developing multidisciplinary teams; managing staffing, rotas, and performance; and fostering a positive, inclusive culture in line with the organisation’s values. The Registered Home Manager will also be responsible for budget management, occupancy and referral management, effective communication with residents and families, and building constructive relationships with external professionals and regulators.

Qualifications

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (or equivalent) and previous experience as a Home Manager or senior leadership role within a nursing or residential care setting.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, including team supervision, performance management, coaching, and the ability to build an inclusive, supportive culture.
  • Proven knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, clinical governance, and best practice in adult social care, with a track record of maintaining or improving inspection outcomes.
  • Demonstrated competence in care planning, risk assessment, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within nursing and residential care services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with residents, relatives, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Sound financial and operational management skills, including budget control, occupancy management, and effective use of resources.
  • Strong organisational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex situations and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Relevant management or leadership qualification in health and social care (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care) or willingness to work towards it.
