We Build Recruitment are hiring for a Business Development Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established UK provider of 24/7 security solutions, specialising in manned guarding, CCTV surveillance, and mobile response services. The business supports construction, commercial, and residential clients with tailored, technology-led security solutions designed to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and expanding the company’s presence across key sectors such as construction, commercial property, and retail.
Key Responsibilities- New Business Development
- Identify and secure new clients across construction, infrastructure, commercial property, and industrial sectors
- Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities, from lead generation to contract close
- Proactively prospect via networking, outreach, site visits, and industry events
- Client Relationship Management
- Build strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers (e.g. site managers, project directors, facilities managers)
- Conduct client needs assessments and propose tailored security solutions (e.g. CCTV monitoring, guards, mobile patrols)
- Maintain regular contact with existing clients to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Solution Selling
- Develop bespoke proposals combining services such as:
- CCTV surveillance with analytics
- Static guarding and K9 patrols
- Mobile response and alarm systems
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations
- Market & Sector Development
- Target high-growth sectors (e.g. construction sites requiring theft prevention and site security)
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends in the UK security industry
- Contribute to pricing strategy and positioning of services
- Sales Performance & Reporting
- Achieve monthly and annual revenue targets
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
- Provide regular pipeline and performance reports to senior leadership
- Essential
- Proven track record in B2B sales or business development (ideally within security, facilities management, or construction services)
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to tailor solutions
- Experience managing long sales cycles and high-value contracts
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
