We Build Recruitment are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of our client, a fast growing company in the UK power industry. This role is ideal for someone looking to transition into the power industry, particularly candidates with some electrical experience or exposure.
You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring adherence to health and safety legislation, and supporting continuous improvement across sites.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular site audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures
- Produce detailed audit reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Develop, deliver, and continuously improve toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Support site teams in understanding and applying health & safety best practices
- Assist in the development and review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, and produce reports with recommendations
- Monitor and report on H&S performance metrics and KPIs
- Liaise with site managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure consistent safety standards
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry developments
- Essential: Experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation (e.g., CDM Regulations)
- Experience conducting site audits and inspections
- Ability to deliver engaging and practical toolbox talks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and report-writing ability
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Desirable: Electrical experience or background (e.g., working alongside electrical systems or projects)
- Interest in or exposure to the power / energy sector
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or higher-level qualifications
- Membership of a professional body
