We Build Recruitment are now looking to hire an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading North West based joinery and construction company.

Role Overview

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial management of construction projects with a strong emphasis on joinery and interior fit-out works. The role involves assisting with cost control, procurement, valuations and subcontractor management, ensuring projects are delivered commercially in line with contractual and company requirements. Previous hands-on or commercial experience within joinery or bespoke interior works is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans and forecasts
  • Support the procurement of joinery packages, materials and subcontractors
  • Measure and value joinery works from drawings, schedules and site records
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Monitor variations, change control and associated cost impacts, particularly relating to joinery and fit-out scopes
  • Support the preparation of subcontractor payment applications and cost reconciliation
  • Liaise with site teams, designers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure commercial alignment
  • Assist in identifying cost risks and value engineering opportunities within joinery packages
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting in line with company procedures
