This is a key role in L&Q’s Transformation & Change Portfolio, helping to strengthen how we plan, manage, govern and report across a complex, multi-programme transformation environment.

We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to provide dedicated analytical and operational support to the Planning and Portfolio Team, with a particular focus on centralised resource management across the Transformation & Change Portfolio. This includes resource data quality, reporting, dashboards, utilisation and capacity information, forecasting views, and the insight needed to support effective portfolio-level planning and decision-making.

The role will suit someone who has worked in a transformation, change, technology, PMO, portfolio, resource management or analytical environment, and who is confident working with project teams, resource owners, delivery leads and enabling functions to collect, validate and improve management information.

You will help maintain a clear, reliable view of resource demand, supply, allocation, utilisation, capacity, constraints and emerging resource risks across the portfolio, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent and presented in a way that supports senior decision-making.

Whilst resource management will remain the focus of the role, we are looking for someone with broad experience across portfolio management/PMO to support across the full breadth of services the team provides. This is an opportunity to shape and embed portfolio management capability across a major transformation portfolio, working closely with Heads of Delivery, Programme Managers, Project Managers, Technology teams, Finance, business leads and senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Your impact in the role:

  • Resource Management and Reporting: Supporting the operation and continuous improvement of centralised resource management processes across the Transformation and Change portfolio. Maintaining, validating and improving resource data received from projects, programme teams and resource owners to support clearer visibility of capacity, allocation and utilisation.
  • Portfolio Data and Insight: Producing and maintaining resource dashboards, MI and reporting packs covering utilisation, allocation, capacity, constraints and forecasting. Helping ensure portfolio leaders have clear, timely and reliable information to support planning, mobilisation and delivery decisions.
  • Reporting Cycles and Governance Support: Supporting regular resource reporting cycles, including data collection, follow-up, quality checks and preparation of outputs for leadership forums. Helping identify resource gaps, delivery pinch-points, emerging capacity risks and data inconsistencies so they can be surfaced through the right governance routes.
  • Process Improvement and Tooling: Supporting reporting automation, dashboard development, PMO tooling implementation and ongoing process improvement. Helping maintain portfolio controls, templates, logs and ways of working linked to resource management, planning and reporting.
  • Working Across the Portfolio: Working collaboratively with Project Managers, Programme Managers, resource owners and delivery teams to improve the quality and consistency of resource information. Building effective working relationships across Transformation and Change, Technology, Finance, Strategy, business teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Impact and Contribution: Contributing directly to better resource visibility, stronger data quality, more reliable reporting and improved confidence in portfolio planning and delivery decisions.

What you'll bring:

We are looking for someone with strong analytical capability, good attention to detail and the ability to support a developing portfolio resource management function.

You will have:

  • Experience in an analyst, PMO, portfolio, project support, resource management, planning, transformation, change or technology delivery environment.
  • Experience producing management information, dashboards, reports, trackers or data analysis to support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, spot inconsistencies and turn information into clear insight.
  • Good Excel, reporting and data management skills, with experience maintaining accurate information across multiple inputs or stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting governance, reporting cycles, action tracking, escalation routes or operational portfolio processes.
  • Ability to work with Project Managers, Programme Managers, resource owners and enabling teams to gather, validate and improve information.
  • Confidence following up on missing, incomplete or inconsistent data and helping improve reporting quality.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage regular reporting deadlines, competing requests and detailed information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce structured, professional outputs for management and leadership audiences.
  • A practical improvement mindset, with an interest in improving processes, controls, templates, dashboards and ways of working over time.
  • Portfolio, programme or project management qualifications would be helpful, but equivalent experience in a complex transformation, portfolio or consulting environment is equally valuable.

If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage during this process, including application stage, please email lqcareers@lqgroup.org.uk.
