We are working with a well-established manufacturing business that is looking to add a Business Development Executive to its commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to increase revenue across an established customer base. The role is not heavily focused on cold calling, although there will be some proactive business development activity. The main focus is strengthening relationships with existing customers, identifying upselling opportunities and ensuring clients receive an excellent level of service throughout their journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts
- Build strong relationships with key contacts and decision-makers
- Identify opportunities to upsell products and services across the customer base
- Follow up on enquiries and convert opportunities into sales
- Conduct occasional outbound business development and lead generation activities
- Work closely with internal departments including operations, production and customer service
- Prepare quotations and support customers through the sales process
- Maintain accurate records and activity through the CRM system
- Regularly review account performance and customer requirements

- Previous experience within a sales, account management or customer-focused commercial role
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable speaking with customers over the telephone and face-to-face

- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or industrial sectors would be advantageous but not essential
