We are recruiting for an experienced Inspector to work across Northumberland, focusing on the inspection and assessment of residential properties affected by damp and mould issues. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Awaab's Law and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), with the ability to carry out detailed property inspections and identify the root causes of damp, mould, and condensation problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive property inspections across residential housing stock.
  • Assess properties in line with Awaab's Law requirements and HHSRS standards.
  • Identify the underlying causes of damp, mould, and condensation issues rather than treating symptoms alone.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports with clear findings and recommendations.
  • Advise on effective remedial actions and long-term solutions to resolve property defects.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and housing professionals to ensure recommended works are completed.
  • Ensure properties meet health, safety, and compliance standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience in property inspection, building surveying, or housing maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of Awaab's Law and HHSRS.
  • Ability to diagnose damp, mould, condensation, and ventilation issues.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Northumberland.
