Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to work in a full-time permanent opportunity based in Newcastle. This role is suited to either an experienced lecturer or a strong industry professional looking to transition into education, with support available for candidates who do not yet hold a teaching qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, practical and theory-based teaching across Mechanical Engineering programmes.
- Support learners on Level 2 and Level 3 provision, apprenticeships, and potentially HE programmes where appropriate.
- Plan and prepare inclusive, effective lessons and learning activities.
- Assess learner work, monitor progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Promote safe working practices within workshop and classroom environments.
- Create a positive, professional and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.
Essential
- Strong industry experience within Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to engage and support learners across a range of levels.
- Strong communication, organisational and practical skills.
- HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Teaching qualification, although this is not essential and support can be provided.
- Experience delivering engineering education, training, mentoring or apprenticeship.
