About the Role

We're recruiting Class 2 Night Drivers (Category C) to join our busy transport operation based in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced HGV Class 2, LGV Class 2 and Category C Drivers looking for regular, ongoing work with competitive rates of pay and the opportunity to secure a permanent position. You'll be delivering fresh bread to retail stores and customers across the South Coast, ensuring every delivery is completed safely, efficiently and on time while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect their assigned vehicle from the designated off-site parking area.
  • Return to the depot to load bread deliveries onto the vehicle.
  • Ensure all loads are safely secured before departure.
  • Complete scheduled delivery routes to customers, providing a professional and reliable service.
  • Safely operate tail-lift equipment and carry out manual handling in line with company procedures.
  • Return all empty baskets and delivery equipment to the depot at the end of the route.
  • Complete daily vehicle safety checks using a company-issued mobile device.
  • Maintain regular communication with the transport team throughout your shift.
  • Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Digital Tachograph regulations.
  • Park the vehicle in the designated parking area and complete all end-of-shift procedures before finishing.

Requirements

  • A valid UK Class 2 (Category C) Licence
  • A current Driver CPC Card
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card
  • Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills.
  • A professional, reliable and safety-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The physical fitness required for manual handling and multi-drop deliveries.
  • Flexibility to work early morning/night starts between 00:00 and 03:00.
