Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Associate, your role will involve a range of diverse and interesting responsibilities, including:
- Preparing accounts for limited companies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Preparing consolidated accounts for small and medium-sized groups.
- Drafting corporation tax returns, ensuring compliance with the latest tax regulations.
- Reviewing simple VAT returns to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing management figures to help clients make informed business decisions.
- Building strong relationships with clients and liaising with them regularly, with the goal of transitioning into a supervisory role.
- Managing your own immediate work schedules and developing daily work plans to ensure timely completion.
- Providing support and guidance to less experienced team members.
- Assisting managers as required in day-to-day operations and client matters.
- Handling external auditor queries in a professional and efficient manner.
- Providing general assistance with ad-hoc projects, such as valuations, due diligence, and forensic work.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of practice experience in an accounting or finance-related role.
- A commitment to maintaining a high level of technical knowledge and staying current with industry developments.
- Competence in using MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with Xero is essential.
- Knowledge of Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks, and Sage 50 is highly desirable.
- A strong awareness of technology and its applications in accounting and finance.
- A self-motivated individual who can apply relevant skills to new challenges.
- Excellent people and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and focus.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with a passion for problem-solving.
