We are looking for a part‑time Young Persons Worker to join our team in Stoke‑on‑Trent. Do you have a great rapport with young people and are passionate about educating and supporting them to navigate the many issues they face today? If so, this job could be exactly what you're looking for.
Main duties of the job:
- Support a caseload of young people experiencing difficulties with substance misuse.
- Work with young people to access their needs, develop care plans, and deliver or refer to a variety of treatments.
- Proactively engage with young people to provide support, training, education and guidance so they better understand the implications of their situations and decisions.
- Safeguard young clients in collaboration with other agencies and professionals, working with families when appropriate.
The role is part‑time, permanent and requires 22.5 hours per week. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Salary is £25,000 per year pro‑rata, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands up to £30,000 per year pro‑rata. Applications close on 12th November 2025; the role may close earlier if we receive a high volume of applications.
Qualifications & Essential Skills:
- OCN/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within 12 months.
- Experience managing a caseload of young people with complex needs.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and ability to apply safeguarding processes.
- Evidence of multi‑agency working and continuous professional development.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with a wide range of backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills, prioritisation, and ability to cope with competing demands.
- Ability to record and maintain accurate case details promptly.
- Effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media.
- Access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence.
- Subject to a satisfactory enhanced level DBS and barred lists check.
