Our service in Weston-super-Mare is looking for a Recovery Worker to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will be working within a highly skilled and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team who will support you in your development and your ability to deliver the best care you can to our clients.

In this role you will specialise in harm reduction. You will support individuals who are using drugs and alcohol by providing structured brief harm reduction interventions and other psychosocial and pharmacotherapy interventions. You will build trust, provide resources, and connect people to our services supporting for health, such as our needle exchange and including screening for blood borne viruses.

Key duties include:

  • Assessing needs and care planning
  • Maintaining confidential records
  • Collaborating with other agencies to break down barriers to treatment and improving health outcomes within the community.

Our Recovery Workers play a vital role in supporting clients to identify their goals, ambitions, and passions. You’ll work with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to guide them on their path to recovery. This is an integral role for With You - as a frontline worker, you will deliver continuity of care through effective partnership working, care coordination, delivery of interventions and key work responsibilities.

This is a full time, fixed term contract until March 2027. We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. You will also be organised with excellent time management skills.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have some experience of working in a health, social care, or related setting
  • have some experience of delivering services in a community setting
  • have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
  • have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your workload
  • be flexible with your working hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed

Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. We welcome applications from those with lived experience. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with an inspiring and engaging approach.
