Overview
Part-time Young Persons Worker required in Stoke-on-Trent. 22.5 hours per week. Driving license and access to a vehicle essential.

- Help young people access their needs, develop care plans, deliver treatments and/or refer to other specialist support as needed.
- Proactively engage with young people to provide support, training, education and guidance to understand the implications of situations they may face and the decisions they may take.

- Job responsibilities
- End-to-end responsibilities as described in the role: supporting a caseload of young people with substance misuse, developing care plans, delivering treatments or referring to specialist services as required, and providing ongoing guidance and education to help young people understand and navigate their situations.
- Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to safeguard young clients and work with families where appropriate.
- Salary and hours
Starting salary: £26,250 per year pro rata, rising to £30,900 per year pro rata in line with pay bands. Role is permanent and part-time (22.5 hours per week).
Essential qualifications and skills
- OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent (or willing to achieve within 12 months).
- Experience of managing a caseload of young people with complex needs.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and ability to implement safeguarding processes.
- Evidence of multi-agency working and continuous professional development.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with diverse groups.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time, prioritise and cope with competing demands.
- Ability to record and maintain accurate case details in a timely manner.
- Effective IT skills and proficiency with relevant packages and digital media.
