Join our team in Redcar & Cleveland as a Recovery Worker, providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. WithYou in Redcar and Cleveland is a free and confidential service for people affected by drugs and alcohol, part of the THRIVE partnership.
As a Recovery Worker, you will:
- Provide support and advice to individuals subject to criminal justice processes experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse and domestic abuse.
- Complete training in both areas and strengthen your knowledge of these key strands of our service.
- Manage your own caseload, working alongside other social care services to identify how we can help.
- Develop plans with clients to help them achieve their goals.
- Work collaboratively with the social care and domestic abuse teams.
You will work as part of a team with the aims of:
- Understanding your clients
- Keeping them safe
- Creating achievable plans with your support
- Checking in and reviewing their progress
- Maintaining accurate records of your contact
- Working effectively with other social care providers
- Continuously learning and reflecting to improve outcomes
- Supporting colleagues to deliver excellent care
We offer a starting salary of £25,000, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per year (pro rata). Benefits include:

Requirements:
- Compassionate and motivated individual with the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Demonstrable experience in health, social care, criminal justice, or a clear motivation for the drug and alcohol sector.
- Successful track record of providing efficient customer service.
- Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- ONC/NVQ level 3 or willingness to achieve this within 12 months.
- Experience working or volunteering with individuals who have experienced substance misuse issues.
- Resilience under pressure and effective prioritisation of work.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- IT competent and flexible with working hours.
- Willingness to support other With You locations when needed.
