Join our team in East Ayrshire. Our service provides support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. Our teams work with people at every stage of their recovery journey - providing evidence-based psychosocial interventions, helping clients build resilience, exploring the root causes of substance misuse and achieving meaningful change.
As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £25,000 per annum pro rata, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per year pro rata. This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week with days negotiable Monday to Friday. This post is on a fixed-term basis until 31/03/2027.
About the Role
- Our Recovery Workers work with service users to help them determine their goals, ambitions, and passions, creating the best treatment plan for their needs.
- You will deliver continuity of care through effective partnership working, care coordination, delivery of interventions, and key work responsibilities.
- You will manage an active caseload of service users, treating them respectfully and with dignity.
- You will strive to work collaboratively with partners and communities, ensuring that true person-centred practice is at the heart of all that we do.
This post requires travel across East Ayrshire; a driving license and access to a vehicle would be beneficial. An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Health care and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is required for this post.

Requirements
- Positive and motivated candidates who can communicate with a wide range of people in different settings.
- Organised with excellent time management skills.
- SVQ level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent.
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or meet the registration requirements.
- Experience of working in a health, social care, or related setting.
- Experience of delivering services in a community setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Resilient under pressure and able to prioritise work.
- Flexible with working hours and willing to support other locations when needed.
- A driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Previous experience of working or volunteering with people who use substances is ideal.
- Meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.
