Join our team as a Young Persons Worker in Burnley. We are recruiting for a Young Person's Worker for our substance misuse service in Lancashire, for young people up to the age of 25. You will deliver 1:1 and group work, alongside information sessions and drop-in services for young people in the local area. As a Young Person's Worker, you will offer vital support, training, and education to young people in their locality. You will work with other agencies and professionals to safeguard your young clients, working with their families too where appropriate.

You will be working in partnership with the local authority and will work between WithYou offices and the local authority offices, therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for this role. In this role, you'll be supporting a caseload of young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse. You'll work with them to assess their needs, develop care plans, deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed. You'll also be proactively engaging with young people to provide them with the support, training, education and guidance they need to better understand the implications of the situations they may face and the decisions they may take.

This position is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis, until March 2027. As a Young Person's Worker, we offer a starting salary of £25,000, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,000 per year.

Essential Skills:

  • Compassionate and motivated individual with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, ideally with young people.
  • Clear motivation for working in the drug and alcohol sector.
  • Successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service.
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to manage time effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Passionate about the work and has a positive and engaging approach to clients and key stakeholders.
