Join us as a Recovery Worker in Bournemouth. Our team are recruiting for a full time (37.5 hours) Recovery Worker to join their Outreach team in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250 per annum. The salary for this role is on an incremental scale and will rise each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per annum. We are looking for a Recovery Worker on a fixed term contract until 01/06/2027. You will be working 37.5 hours per week between 09:00 - 17:00, Monday - Friday.
Main duties of the job:
- Assertive Outreach: Actively connecting with individuals experiencing homelessness across the BCP area to build trust and offer support.
- Community Drop-ins & Groups: Running and delivering engaging drop-in sessions and support groups in multiple locations to reach clients where they are.
- Personalised Case Management: Providing tailored support, from initial contact through to long-term stability.
- Harm Reduction: Implementing strategies to minimize risks and promote healthier choices.
- Rapid Prescribing Access: Guiding and supporting individuals to access essential rapid prescribing services.
- Bespoke Psychological & Social Interventions (PSI): Delivering targeted, individualised support to address specific needs.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working closely with various partners to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients.
- Pre-treatment & Ongoing Support: Offering crucial assistance before treatment, including supporting access to inpatient detox and rehabilitation services.
- Timely & Effective Interventions: Delivering the right support at the right moment to help individuals achieve their goals.
The successful candidate will be compassionate, proactive and confident in partnership working, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing substance misuse and mental health difficulties.
Experience:
We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. You will also be organised with excellent time management skills. To be successful in this role you will:
- Build effective links with PCNs, CMHTs, Access Wellbeing Hubs, Interface Meetings and Steps 2 Wellbeing services.
- Support clients to attend appointments and advocate on their behalf with partner agencies.
- Provide outreach support and attend multi-agency meetings to ensure coordinated care.
- Offer low-level emotional wellbeing support, including support around anxiety, depression and neurodiversity.
- Support clients to engage with external mental health services and improve access to appropriate care pathways.
- Focus on engaging individuals with mental health needs into the treatment system and reducing barriers to support.
You will have a UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle. Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances.
