A dynamic & innovative design and production studio is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to play a crucial role in bridging the gap between creativity and production. This individual will be responsible for turning ambitious ideas into tangible masterpieces through precision, problem-solving, and expert CAD skills. From luxury events to large-scale architectural facades, brand activations, dining experiences & mesmerising lighting installations, this role offers the opportunity to work on extraordinary projects that push the boundaries of design and engineering for brands like Chanel, Dior, Playstation & Neom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Concept to Creation: Collaborate with the creative team to transform visionary ideas into technical drawings, CAD models, and detailed fabrication plans. Ensure all designs are both visually stunning and structurally sound, adhering to project specifications and feasibility requirements.
- Project Execution: Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are flawlessly executed from concept to completion. Provide technical expertise and problem-solving insights in project meetings. Conduct site visits to oversee installations, ensuring alignment with the original vision and maintaining quality standards.
- Vendor & Fabrication Coordination: Communicate technical requirements to suppliers and ensure all designs meet the highest standards. Review and approve vendor prototypes, ensuring accuracy and precision. Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges throughout the production process.
- Innovation & Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality control throughout the design and production process. Stay at the forefront of industry trends, exploring new materials, techniques, and technologies to enhance project outcomes.
- Technical Documentation & Communication: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of all technical designs, including revisions and updates. Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, aligning expectations and timelines.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 5+ years of experience in technical design, particularly in events, architecture, or exhibitions.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Vectorworks preferred).
- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication techniques, and construction methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in technical execution.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve challenges efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- A degree in Technical Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
