We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support. Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model. Our vision is to have “A society where NO male survivor is left behind” We’re looking for a Social Worker to join our innovative Pathfinder service, working with male survivors of sexual harm across Greater Manchester. This is a role for someone who understands that, for some survivors, getting the right support isn’t as simple as making a referral. The men you’ll work alongside may have become disengaged from services, experienced multiple barriers to getting help, or be dealing with a combination of trauma and practical challenges in their lives. Your role will be about building relationships, understanding what is getting in the way, and helping to ensure that no male survivor is left behind. You might support someone around housing, finances, welfare, accessing healthcare or connecting with other services. Just as importantly, you’ll help bring the different people and organisations around a survivor together, reducing the need for them to navigate complex systems alone. This reflects the wider role profile, which places a strong emphasis on advocacy, responding to vulnerability and collaborative working with social care and healthcare professionals. It’s an opportunity to practise social work in a genuinely collaborative way, combining trauma-informed support with practical problem-solving and helping services work better together around the person. You’ll need to be professionally curious, comfortable working with complexity and able to balance compassionate relationship-building with safeguarding, risk and professional boundaries. The role requires Social Work England registration and a Level 6 or above Social Work qualification, along with experience supporting or advocating for adults and/or young people experiencing vulnerability. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who shares our belief that no male survivor should be left behind and who wants to work creatively with survivors and our partners to make that a reality. a competitive salary. · annual leave package with incremental rises plus bank holidays. · company sick pay. · Birthday annual leave. · pension contribution. · and a range of discount and benefit programmes.
