Key Requirements
- Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Professional HR or Training Certification (e.g., CIPD Level 3+, ATD, or relevant charity sector qualifications) is desirable.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in HR training, learning & development, or compliance training, ideally within the nonprofit or charity sector.
- Experience developing and delivering training for a diverse audience, including volunteers and remote teams.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, GDPR, and fundraising regulations is an addition.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex policies and make training interactive.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-learning platforms, and digital collaboration tools.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Percentage of employees, volunteers and trustees completing mandatory policy training.

What will you be doing?
The HR Training Officer will work closely with the HR Policy team to design and implement engaging training programs that educate employees, volunteers and trustees on key policies, including safeguarding, ethical fundraising, data protection, workplace conduct and more. This role also involves developing short quizzes to assess understanding and support compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate about learning, policy awareness, and the nonprofit sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Program Development & Delivery
- Develop and deliver engaging training sessions on We Are Stronger charity's policies, including safeguarding, equality & diversity, volunteer management, and fundraising ethics.
- Customize training programs for different audiences, including staff, volunteers and trustees.
- Conduct virtual training sessions, ensuring accessibility for all employees, volunteers and trustees.
- Assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Design easy‐to‐understand training materials, including short videos, presentations etc.
- Create interactive quizzes and knowledge checks to reinforce policy awareness.
- Recommend and use digital platforms to track training completion and compliance.
- Support HR in monitoring compliance with training requirements by tracking completion rate.
- Provide feedback from learners to the policy team on required policy updates.
- Ensure training materials reflect the latest legal and regulatory requirements in the charity sector.
- Work with the recruitment team and department leads to integrate policy training into onboarding and ongoing learning programs.
- Gather feedback from employees, volunteers and trustees to enhance training effectiveness.
- Collaborate with external partners where necessary to develop sector‐specific training.
- Source funding for training initiatives that enhance roles of employees, volunteers and trustees.
- Design, deliver or identify training programs in line with organisational needs.
