PA Media Group is the UK’s leading provider of trusted news, information and data services. For more than 150 years, we’ve played a central role in the UK media ecosystem. Today, we’re evolving. As the communications landscape shifts, we are building a more integrated, commercially focused marketing communications division, bringing together specialist brands including Mediapoint, Hydrogen, and PA Media Assignments into one powerful, joined-up proposition.
About the opportunity. This is a brand-new role at the heart of that transformation. As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving growth across our newly integrated PR & Marketing Services division, connecting our capabilities to create tailored, high-value solutions for clients. This isn’t a traditional sales role. You’ll spend the majority of your time with clients, building relationships, uncovering opportunities and shaping bespoke propositions, working across social, content, insight, data and technology. You’ll be part of a centralised growth team, working alongside commercial and sales specialists, with the autonomy to identify, nurture and convert new business opportunities end-to-end, particularly where there is opportunity to bring multiple services together into a single, compelling solution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across target sectors
- Build and manage a strong pipeline, from initial outreach through to conversion
- Spend significant time meeting clients, networking and developing relationships
- Shape and sell integrated, multi-service solutions across Hydrogen, Mediapoint and PA Media Assignments
- Collaborate with internal specialists to create compelling, tailored proposals
- Lead on outbound campaigns, events and partnerships to generate demand
- Own your pipeline, using CRM tools and data to drive performance and forecasting
- Work closely with commercial and sales colleagues to maximise opportunities across the division
What we’re looking for: We’re looking for someone who thrives in a high-autonomy, high-impact business development role. You’ll bring:
- Experience in business development, sales or consultancy within a marketing, media or agency environment
- A proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities
- Confidence operating in client-facing environments, engaging senior stakeholders
- Experience shaping or selling bespoke or consultative solutions, rather than off-the-shelf products
- Strong understanding of digital, social or content-led marketing (experience with data/tech platforms is a bonus)
- The ability to work across teams and bring together different capabilities into one proposition
Backgrounds we often see succeed in this space include marketing agencies, communications consultancies, digital agencies or advisory/consulting environments.
Shape something new – step into a brand-new role at the centre of a transforming division, where you’ll have real influence on how we grow and go to market. Sell a genuinely unique proposition – combine data, insight, content and social to create tailored, high-impact solutions clients can’t get elsewhere. High-impact, revenue-generating role – clear ownership, visibility and the opportunity to directly influence commercial success. Work with a diverse portfolio of brands – collaborate across Mediapoint, Hydrogen and PA Media Assignments to unlock bigger, more strategic opportunities. Be part of a business investing in growth – with a clear ambition to build a more integrated, future-ready marketing communications proposition.
Competitive salary with performance-based bonus (uncapped earning potential). Hybrid, flexible working with a strong focus on being out in the market, meeting clients and building relationships. 25 days’ holiday plus options to buy more, alongside Enhanced family leave. Life assurance 4x salary. Wellbeing and volunteering days to support you inside and outside of work.
