Quantity Surveyor Construction Preston / Lancs £60,000 – £65,000 + Company Package We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well established North West business. The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have at least 5 years construction experience and be responsible for various construction projects across the Lancashire area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that the project is completed within its projected budget. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and budgeting. Prepare tender documents and assist in the tendering process by evaluating bids and negotiating contracts. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects. Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to management and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, building regulations, and health and safety standards. Qualifications A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, particularly in cost control. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
