Site Manager Civils

About the Role
Our client, an established North West Contractor, are seeking an experienced Site Manager (Civils) to deliver civil engineering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage site operations from setup through to completion.

You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including site setup, logistics, and temporary works

  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure programme and quality targets are met

  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, including RAMS, inductions, and toolbox talks

  • Monitor progress against the construction programme and resolve technical or operational issues

  • Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to maximise efficiency and control costs

  • Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements

  • Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and progress reports

  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering projects

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering methods, drawings, and site setting-out

  • SMSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work

  • Excellent leadership and people-management skills

  • Strong communication and reporting abilities

  • Proactive approach to health & safety and problem-solving

  • Experience across highways, groundworks, infrastructure, or utilities

  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and fast-paced programmes
