We are proud to be working in partnership with a leading regional main contractor to appoint an experienced Senior Build Manager for a £45m flagship commercial development in Leeds. This is a high-profile scheme comprising a 2-storey, high-spec office building with a complex reinforced concrete basement structure, delivering premium commercial space in a prime city-centre location.

The Company

Our client is a financially robust, well-established construction business with an excellent reputation across the North of England. They deliver projects across commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors, typically ranging from £10m–£60m. With a strong secured pipeline and consistent repeat business, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Build Manager to play a key leadership role on this landmark project.

The Role

As Senior Build Manager, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of the construction phase, leading multiple Site Managers and operational teams. Reporting to the Project Director, you will oversee build strategy, sequencing, programme management, and quality delivery. This role requires strong technical capability, particularly around RC frame and basement construction, alongside the ability to drive performance across a large site team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the construction programme
  • Leading and mentoring Site Managers and subcontractors
  • Managing build sequencing and logistics strategy
  • Driving health & safety culture on site
  • Ensuring quality assurance and compliance standards
  • Monitoring cost control in collaboration with commercial teams
  • Client and consultant liaison at senior level
  • Risk management and problem-solving throughout the build phase

About You

We are looking for a confident construction leader with significant experience delivering major commercial projects. Proven experience as a Senior Build Manager / Project Lead on £30m+ schemes. Strong background in reinforced concrete frame and basement packages. Demonstrated leadership of large site teams. Track record of delivering projects to programme and quality benchmarks. SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), First Aid. Exposure to high-spec commercial office projects. Knowledge of sustainable construction standards (e.g. BREEAM).
