Role Overview: Our client, a reputable and growing main contractor, is looking to recruit an Intermediate/Project Quantity Surveyor to help deliver apartment schemes across the Manchester and Cheshire areas. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in the commercial management of high-spec residential developments from groundworks to handover. You will be working on multi-phase apartment schemes (£8 million - £25 million in value), with full involvement from early procurement through to final accounts.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial delivery across live projects and upcoming phases
- Prepare tender packages and lead subcontractor procurement
- Manage cost reporting, CVRs, and financial forecasting
- Attend project and design team meetings, offering commercial input
- Prepare valuations, track variations and change control
- Work with site teams to monitor progress and cost impact
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards
- Maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships
- Provide support to junior QS staff where applicable
Required Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 4 years post-graduate QS experience
- Proven track record delivering new-build residential developments
- Strong working knowledge of JCT D&B contracts
- Excellent numeracy, commercial acumen, and negotiation skills
- Competent in cost software systems and Excel
