A leading and well-respected regional housebuilder is seeking a hands-on Assistant Site Manager for a new build housing development in Garstang. This is a long-term temporary role with a strong possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. This is a busy, fast-paced position ideal for someone who thrives on site, takes ownership, and is confident managing subcontractors, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the Site Manager in all daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strong on-site presence, ensuring subcontractors are productive, compliant, and working to programme
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and support successful, defect-free handovers
- Support programme management and help drive progress across the development
- Carry out snagging, inspections, and quality checks
- Order materials, manage deliveries, and assist with site logistics
- Complete general office-based duties including paperwork and reporting
- Monitor health & safety compliance across the site
- Represent the company professionally to clients, visitors, and inspectors
Requirements
- CSCS card (essential)
- SMSTS (essential)
- First Aid certificate (essential)
- Proven experience as an ASM/Site Supervisor in new build housing
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work proactively in a busy site environment
- Confidence managing trades and pushing works to programme
