Junior Estimator/Estimator Manchester £ Negotiable salary full company package We have an opportunity for a Junior Estimator/Estimator to join our expanding Pre-Construction team based at our office in Greater Manchester. We are a family run SME construction company established 40 years ago, financially secure with a strong pipeline of work. We work on new build and refurbishment projects around Greater Manchester and the North West in the education, housing and commercial sector with both public and private clients. Our projects range in value from £200k to £10 million. You will be responsible for specific tasks and projects where your responsibilities will include: Working within the estimating department to aid in the production of / produce, high quality accurate estimates. Pricing from first principles and sub-contractor quotation comparisons, presented in a legible, analytical and logical format for both new build and refurbishment projects. Responsible for packaging up the tender documents, liaising with subcontractors to acquire quotations, preparation of accurate take offs and producing a full breakdown of pricing. Utilise estimating software as part of the estimating process – Conquest Estimating Software. (Training can be provided) Attending Tender Handover meetings with the Pre-Construction Director to the Commercial/Site Team. Production of site files for successful tenders and issuing to the Site Team. General administration duties within the estimating department. You are required to work as part of a team to complete work-related tasks to ensure the smooth running of the projects and the business as a whole. You are required to attend training courses as appropriate. You will require the following competencies, skills and qualifications, You will ideally have one-two years’ experience working as a Junior Estimator / Estimator Good communication skills. Well organised. Good IT skills. Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team. Fluency in implementing and using estimating software – Ideally Conquest. Degree qualified or equivalent.
