A highly respected and established main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Internals Site Manager to oversee night shift operations on a fast-paced new build development in Huddersfield. This contractor has a strong pipeline of projects and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality schemes across the UK.
The Role:
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for all internal works during night shifts, ensuring that progress, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. This role will suit someone confident managing multiple trades in a live construction environment and capable of working autonomously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all internal trades including drylining, joinery, M&E, flooring, and finishing works
- Drive progress in line with the construction programme, identifying and resolving delays proactively
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety policies and site procedures at all times
- Carry out regular quality inspections and snagging, ensuring work meets specification and client expectations
- Lead site briefings and toolbox talks for night shift operatives
- Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, progress reports, and incident logs
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and day shift management to ensure smooth handovers
- Monitor workforce levels and productivity to keep the project on track
Requirements:
- Valid CSCS Card (Black or Gold preferred)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Demonstrable experience as an Internals/Finishing Manager on new build or large-scale construction projects
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage pressure in a fast-paced environment
